Jose I. Juncadella, Principal of Fairchild Partners, co-founded the commercial real estate firm in 2005. With more than 30 years of commercial real estate brokerage experience and over $3 billion in sales and leasing volume, Jose has concluded many of South Florida’s most significant leases, sales, and build-to suit transactions. Prior to founding Fairchild Partners, he was a top broker with Codina Real Estate Services and The Doran Jason Group. Jose has been recognized with top honors from the industry’s leading publications and professional organizations. These include the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) 2015 Innovator of the Year award, and induction into the Florida International University (FIU) Hall of Fame as 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2019, GlobeSt.com’s Real Estate Forum magazine recognized Jose with the national award of 2019 “Industrial Influencer.”
Among significant 2016 transactions, Jose was involved in representing the sellers in the $28 million sale of 44 industrial acres in Hialeah, and the $54 million sale of two acres in Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood. He has served as exclusive tenant representative for major companies, including Facebook, American Express, Sunglass Hut (national headquarters), TNT Express Worldwide, TOPP Telecom, New York Life, Holliday Fenoglio Fowler (HFF), Feeding South Florida, and Ericsson GE. He handled national representation for Schenker International and represented Delta Airlines Reservation Center, Ryder System, Mastec, and CSA Group in relocations of their South Florida corporate headquarters. He was part of the Miami Herald’s facilities relocation team in 2013, and participated in Baptist Health South Florida’s site selection and acquisition for its build-to-suit centralized distribution center in South Florida.
He has served as lead leasing broker for South Florida’s major industrial and office parks, including Beacon Centre, Beacon 97, Beacon TradePort, Beacon Industrial Park, Beacon Lakes, Medley Industrial Park, Miami Free Zone, Westside Corporate Center, Centergate at Gratigny, Downtown Doral, Transal Logistics Center, and America’s Gateway IX. He is the lead broker representing Centergate II, a 602,000-sq.-ft. class-A industrial development in Hialeah named NAIOP’s 2016 Building of the Year. Now filling the project with top-tier users, Fairchild Partners signed a tenant there for one of 2017’s largest industrial leases in South Florida.
As the landlord’s representative, in 2015 he helped secure Amazon.com as a 335,000-sq.-ft. tenant for Airport West. That same year, he was instrumental in fully leasing the new 218,000-sq.-ft. Transal Logistics Center to eight tenants in the brief span of six months at record rates for that market.
A distinguished leader of his field’s professional organizations, Jose has served on the SIOR’s Florida board of directors from 2006 to 2014. A director of the Commercial Industrial Association of South Florida (CIASF) since 2014, he was CIASF’s 2015-16 president. A governor of the 1,200-member Realtors Commercial Alliance, he was its 2009 president, in addition to membership since 2006 in its parent organization, the Miami Association of Realtors. Active with Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW-Miami) since 2011, he co-chairs CREW-Miami’s Fishing Tournament, an annual event that supports the scholarships CREW-Miami awards to women entering commercial real estate. He currently serves on the FIU School of Real Estate Advisory Board. A runner and an avid angler, Jose is a member of the Coconut Grove-based Profishent fishing team.
Maria Juncadella is Managing Principal of Fairchild Partners, one of South Florida’s top-rated commercial real estate firms. As co-qualifying broker, she has been involved in all aspects of management and brokerage activities since 2005 when she and her husband, Jose I. Juncadella, founded the firm. As a real estate advisor, Maria specializes in the sale and leasing of commercial properties in Miami-Dade’s most active submarkets.
In 2016, Maria spearheaded over ten million dollars in lease transactions, accounting for 74,000 of the 600,000 sq. ft. Downtown Doral office park. She participated in the broker team that achieved a record sale price on a two-acre parcel in Miami’s Edgewater district. As lead broker at five-building Kendall Summit, she has leased 174,000 sq. ft. and achieved a 33% rate increase during the three years Fairchild has had the listing. In 2015, Maria had an active role in Baptist Health South Florida’s land purchase for a build-to-suit distribution center.
Maria is actively involved in multiple office and medical office lease transactions in Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, South Miami, Kendall and Doral. She represents several new-to-market retail tenants.
Maria was 2016 President of the Realtors Commercial Alliance (RCA Miami); its membership reached 2,000-plus commercial agents under her leadership. She has served on the Miami Association of Realtors’ Board of Governors since 2013.
In 2019, Maria was awarded as a South Florida Power Woman by Bisnow, for “Outstanding Excellence & Influence in South Florida Commercial Real Estate.” CREW-Miami (Commercial Real Estate Women) has recognized Maria with an Outstanding Leadership award (2016), a Star award (2015), and an Outstanding Mover & Shaker award (2014). She was 2012 President of CREW-Miami and has served on its board, and on national and chapter committees. Maria currently serves on CREW-Miami’s strategic planning committee and, since 2012, has co-chaired the chapter’s annual Fishing Tournament, an immensely successful signature event that funds scholarships for women entering the commercial real estate field.
Maria serves on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami, where she is also co-chair of Women Building up Women, a Habitat initiative dedicated to constructing affordable homes for low-income single mothers and their families. Maria also serves on the Membership Committee of the University of Miami’s Citizens Board. She is a frequent speaker and panelist at educational and professional programs about commercial real estate industry trends and market conditions.

Maria holds an MBA with honors from the University of Miami’s Graduate School of Business Administration. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a BA magna cum laude in anthropology and psychology from the University of Miami following undergraduate work in those subjects at Dickinson College. She holds a baccalaureate from Colegio Teresiano, Managua, Nicaragua.
A Senior Advisor at Fairchild Partners since 2006, Tony Puente’s commercial real estate experience in South Florida spans more than 30 years. His knowledge and experience serve as valuable assets in the entire real estate process, from identifying specific customer needs and fully evaluating target markets through rigorous negotiations to achieving ultimate customer satisfaction.
He has represented both landlords and commercial tenants in the leasing, sales, acquisition, and disposition of office properties in over 1,300 transactions. During his career, Tony has represented numerous institutional and entrepreneurial owners of South Florida office properties, including Hines, GE Asset Management, Tishman Speyer Properties, WealthCap USA, TA Associates Realty, Fortis, Inc., Irradio Holdings, Ltd., JP Morgan, Codina Partners, MAPFRE, the Plumer family, TSG Group, and GL Tower. On the tenant representation side, Tony has represented Aetna, Anheuser-Busch, Liberty Mutual, Total Quality Logistics (TQL), CSA Central, Bermello Ajamil & Partners, Astor Development, Robert Haff, Somos TV, XAPT, Hanover Insurance, Brown-Forman Corporation, IT Savvy, Legal E-Z, and Femwell Group Health.
Active on Fairchild Partners’ team that handles leasing, sales, and marketing Downtown Doral’s 600,000-plus rentable sq.ft. of office buildings, the team has increased the office park’s occupancy by 20% since assuming the assignment in 2014. In 2018, Tony and his team completed two of the year’s largest Miami-Dade leases: the signing of an existing Downtown Doral tenant, AHCA, for 31,000 sq.ft., and tenant representation for AETNA for 85,000 sq.ft at the newly re-developed Plantation Walk office building in Plantation, Broward. He is the current lead broker representing SoMi Station, a new-to-market transit-oriented 195,000 SF office/medical building by TREO Group in the city of South Miami, which breaks ground in the summer of 2019.
In 2015, Tony was inducted into the Miami-Dade College (MDC) Alumni Hall of Fame for Outstanding Contribution in the Field of Real Estate. A member of FIU’s Real Estate Alumni Affinity Council, he is a frequent guest speaker for organizations including Bankers Association, CCIM Outlook Conference, CREW-Miami, and the Commercial Industrial Association of South Florida (CIASF). He serves on the Board of Miami Commercial, the commercial arm of Miami Association of Realtors (MAR). Tony holds a BA in finance from Florida International University; he is a graduate of Belen Jesuit Preparatory High School in Miami. Prior to joining Fairchild, Tony was Vice President at CBRE.
A real estate advisor at Fairchild Partners since 2011, Jonathan Lay has a keen understanding of the asset types and dynamics of Florida’s commercial real estate industry. Known for crafting perceptive market analysis, financial analysis, transaction structuring, and strategic planning throughout the transaction process, he supports the firm’s landlord, tenant, buyer, and seller representation activities. A valued team member who is experienced in a wide variety of commercial properties and markets, he helps create comprehensive solutions for customers who own or are pursuing office and retail assets in sought-after South Florida areas. Jonathan is a licensed Real Estate Sales Associate, a Certified Real Estate Appraiser, and a certified CCIM designee.
Recent South Florida transactions include the leasing of significant office spaces in Coconut Grove, Downtown Doral, greater Doral, Kendall, and Broward. He has represented buyers and investors in the acquisition of major office and retail properties throughout South Florida.
Jonathan is part of the Commercial Board of Governors of Miami Commercial, the commercial arm of the Miami Association of Realtors (MAR), is a member of the Miami-Dade/Monroe district chapter of the CCIM Institute, and holds the Education Chair position in the 2019 CCIM Board of Directors. He serves on the Development Committee for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami. He is also a member of the Florida International University (FIU) Bain Real Estate Council.
Jonathan holds master’s degrees in finance (MSF) and in international real estate (MSIRE) from Florida International University. During the 10th anniversary year of the MSIRE program, FIU recognized Jonathan as one of the program’s 10 most remarkable graduates whose life and work exemplify excellence with the “10 Years & Rising” award.
His undergraduate degree, a double major in international business and real estate, is also from FIU. A graduate of Belen Jesuit Preparatory High School, Class of 2002, he is fluent in English and Italian, and conversational in Spanish.

Since joining Fairchild in 2013, Sebastian has represented buyers, sellers, tenants, and landlords in some of Miami-Dade County’s most recognized transactions.
Among significant 2016 transactions, he was involved in representing the seller of a $28 million sale of 44 acres in Hialeah Gardens and the $54 million sale of two acres in Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood. In 2015 he was involved in a major lease to Amazon in Airport West as the landlord’s representative. That same year, he was instrumental in fully leasing Transal Logistics Center, a new 218,000 sq.ft. industrial development, to eight tenants in the short span of six months at record rates for that market. Sebastian represented Terreno in a long-term lease to Synergy Custom Fixtures, a deal that earned his team a 2015 Industrial Transaction of the Year award from the Commercial Industrial Association of South Florida’s (CIASF).
On the office side, Sebastian was part of the team that negotiated a Brickell office lease for Facebook Latin America. Sebastian’s leasing team attracted Lennox Global Industries to Kendall Summit office park, and has participated in retail and office leases on Miracle Mile and other Coral Gables locations. In 2016, Sebastian also helped secure a location for the new-to-market tech firm, Trend Micro. That same year, he represented Perry Ellis in the leasing of 50,000 sq. ft. in West Dade and the subsequent relocation of that client’s retail outlet.
He is part of Fairchild Partners’ team representing Centergate II, a 602,000 sq.ft. Class-A industrial development in Hialeah named “2016 Building of the Year” by NAIOP. Already filling the project with top-tier national users, FP recently signed a tenant there for one of 2017’s largest industrial leases to date.
As Director of Membership for CIASF (2015-2016), he helped double the association’s membership. He is a member of RCA-Miami, the commercial arm of the Miami Association of Realtors. He volunteers annually with CREW-Miami’s Fishing Tournament, an event that supports CREW-Miami scholarships for women entering the commercial real estate field.
Sebastian is active in the Caregiver’s Cross Foundation, which he founded in 2016 to build a convent in order to house the nuns who serve a nursing home in the Dominican Republic. He spent a post-graduate year in Micronesia teaching English, math and science to high school students through World Teach, Harvard University’s student-run social service agency.
Sebastian’s double-major degree from Boston College included studies in two divisions: a BA in philosophy from the College of Arts and Sciences, and a BA in finance from the College’s Carroll School of Management. He completed international business studies at Universitat Pompei Fabra (Barcelona, Spain) and is a graduate of Miami’s Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, Class of 2008. Fluent in English and Spanish, Sebastian is an avid angler and member of the Profishent Fishing Team based in Coconut Grove.
At Fairchild Partners, Veronica Restrepo handles commercial real estate sales and leasing transactions for buyers, sellers, tenants, and landlords in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. She specializes in office, industrial, and retail transactions. She leverages her strengths in financial analysis, market analysis, transaction structuring, and strategic planning to provide comprehensive solutions for clients.
Veronica earned a bachelor’s degree (cum laude) in Accounting from Florida International University (FIU). She was a student member of the Florida Institute of CPAs, as well as an active member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, Beta Alpha Psi, and the Golden Key International Honor Society. Veronica obtained a master’s in Accounting and Information Systems from Florida Atlantic University (FAU). She holds a certificate in Big Data Analytics from FAU, and is pursuing certificates in construction management and in interior decorating/space design at Miami Dade College (MDC).
She joined Fairchild Partners in June 2019 following three years in the accounting profession. In audit-related positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and Grant Thornton LLP, she analyzed financial statements of those firms’ clients in industries related to real estate, financial services, logistics, hospitality, agriculture, transportation, and more.
Veronica now draws on her accounting background to help owners, sellers, and investors assess and effectively manage their holdings to mitigate market shocks, and to structure real estate investments tax-efficiently. A well-honed ability to analyze financial data, market trends, and operating efficiencies allows Veronica to help clients reach decisions that are both cost-effective and within their budgets. She is currently developing her knowledge of today’s sophisticated options for alternative (non-bank) financing for a wide range of commercial real estate transactions.
Veronica is a licensed Florida real estate sales associate and a member of the board of directors of the Broward chapter of FIU’s Alumni Association. Theater and music have been lifelong passions for Veronica, who began playing the piano at age five. She grew up in South Florida, is a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes Academy, and is fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish.
Marketing strategist/photographer/writer Sofia Ruzo supervises and implements branding strategy, digital/print communications, public relations, graphic design, and event planning for Fairchild Partners, one of Miami-Dade’s top-ranked commercial real estate brokerage companies. When she assumed the post of Chief Marketing Officer in 2014, Sofia brought with her a decade-plus of experience, with lead brand strategist for LinkAmerica and marketing manager for luxury leather goods retailer Lucchese among previous marketing positions. At Fairchild Partners, her deep expertise in research, brand strategy, social media, and print and digital advertising are focused on supporting the firm’s industry initiatives and its team of commercial real estate brokers.
Having grown up in South Florida in a family of commercial real estate professionals, Sofia has an innate understanding of customers’ outreach and marketing expectations. They benefit from the VIP events and wide-ranging print and digital channels that Sofia conceives, designs, and manages.
A former National Geographic blogger and recipient of three grants from that organization, Sofia’s photography appeared in the June/July 2017 issue of National Geographic Traveler and in the November 2013 issue of National Geographic Magazine. Her images have also been published in Inc., Forbes, Gizmondo, Tech Insider, BBC Mundo, Huffington Post, Nexos, Hispanic Executive, and at the 2014 TED Global Conference. She handles marketing and outreach for “The Boiling River Project” (www.boilingriver.org), an international conservation non-profit. She served as internal editor for the TED book, The Boiling River: Adventure and Discovery in the Amazon, published in 2106. In the summer of 2011 & 2015, she worked as fieldwork collaborator at the Boiling River in Peru’s Amazon jungle. She has also worked as photographer, videographer, and fieldwork collaborator for the National Geographic, American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), and Telios-funded expedition to Peru’s Talara Desert to map the Talara Basin’s heat flow and determine the region’s geothermal energy potential.
Sofia holds a master’s degree in advertising/international communications from Southern Methodist University, and earned a double BA magna cum laude in English and marketing/management from Hillsdale College in Michigan. At the London School of Economics in London, England, she completed courses in digital marketing, and refined her skills in research methodology and quantitative methods at the Mudra Institute for Communications (MICA) in Ahmedabad, India. A 2005 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes Academy’s honors program, she is fluent in English and Spanish. Certified as a White Belt in Nia Technique and in First Aid/CPR/AED, she completed a year-long training in 2017 at the Maharishi University of Management to become a Maharishi Ayurveda Health Coach. In her free time, she dances at the School of Contemporary Ballet Dallas and volunteers at the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas.
